NHS Membership at Anderson

What happens first (The selection process):

• August/Beginning of School Year: Junior and Senior students will receive an invitation to join within the first month of school.

• All juniors and any senior not in NHS with a weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher will receive an invitation to join. 

• The invitation will have instructions on HOW to join!  Be sure to follow the instructions on how to apply to be a member of NHS. 

Application Process:

• Once students receive their invitation, they have about 2-3 weeks to complete their application.  

• We do not accept applications after the due date; Students need to make sure they read the invitation and understand what is expected of them. 

• Applications are not accepted over email. Student must use the application form provided in the invitation to submit their answer to the google form. 

• After the due date for the invitation, the faculty council will review the applicants. 

• The Faculty Council will review applications based on Character, Community Service and Involvement, and Leadership. Most students do make it into the NHS unless there is a disciplinary issue brought up by a faculty member. 

• Once the applications have been approved, students will receive an email notification.
